Psalm 46:2–3

God is our refuge

Psalm 46 imagines the worst: the earth giving way and the mountains falling into the sea. Even then, the psalmist says, we will not fear, because God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The psalm ends with a call to be still and know that he is God.

Psalm 46:2–3

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Where could you stop and 'be still' this week to remember who God is?
